Welcome to Makeup Monday: Golden Globes Edition! I don’t know about you but I look forward to award season, just to see what looks are floating down the red carpet. For me, it’s educational and exciting.

In fact, I’d say it’s almost like watching the makeup playoffs, the creation of beauty looks I know will be pinned away on wedding boards, asked for during prom season, referenced in mood boards on photo shoots, and emulated again and again, for years to come. It’s incredible just how much careful thought and collaboration goes into a single look for an event of this caliber, and in the age of HD everything and instant visibility, every detail has to be just right.

This year’s 74th Golden Globe awards certainly did not disappoint. Here is a recap of my faves!

Lily Collins

I was so enamored with this rose theme, and though it is seemingly demure, it’s actually quite bold. I think most people would shy away from pairing blush tones like this on the eyes and cheeks—but to also finish it off with a red lip? Bold elegance defined. 🙌🏽

Winter? I don’t know her. 🤷🏽‍♀️ These tangerine tones seriously made me forget it’s January and absolutely frigid outside. Like Lily’s look, I love that the color palette is bold but wearable, demonstrating that color is not to be feared, but embraced and made our own.

Naomi Harris

Can we just talk about this timeless red carpet glamour after I finish dying over it? 😭 Gorgeous, perfected skin, polished brows, soft pink lips, and lashes for days—it’s literally everything without being too much. If you were wondering, yes, this one was definitely put on my bridal board on Pinterest.

Lucy Hale

If anyone ever asks you what the expression ‘less is more’ means, please just direct them to Lucy Hale last night. Although technically she was attending the Golden Globe after parties, I would be remiss if I did not share this beauty moment. This smokey eye is just the right amount of coquette and I 👏🏽 am 👏🏽 here 👏🏽 for 👏🏽 all 👏🏽 of 👏🏽 it. What makes it even better? It’s easy to achieve, took basically one product, and is always chic. In world of Kims, choose to be a Lucy, forever. 🤘🏽

xo,

soffie
